I think it's finally time I show all of you what I've been working on all semester of my senior year! For those of you who weren't able to make it to the Senior Show, I want to show you what you missed and also share with you my process of how I came up with my idea.
So here it goes...
For my thesis I wanted to combine my two loves. Children's book and caricature portraiture. When I was growing up, history was my least favorite subject. The way some history books were written just seemed so dull and boring! Plus, there were very little pictures, which is what made it somewhat bearable at points! So I thought, here was my challenge. How was I going to make history fun and interesting to learn for kids, but also include my love for drawing people?
So my concept turned into a children's book called "L is for Leader," which would be about influential leaders throughout history. If this book existed, it would be in an alphabetical series. For example, "S" would have a book just about scientists.
My thesis consists of the cover for "L is for Leader," 3 interior pages, one of them being a spread.
So finally, here are the images. Just click on the pictures if you would like to see them at a bigger size. Enjoy and let me know what you think!
